Janine is a second-generation Palestinian-Lebanese American ceramic artist and owner of Clay Space ceramic center in Brooklyn, NY. Her most fervent activism began when high stakes standardized tests flooded New York City schools and her daughter was one of the first parents to boycott these tests. From that point, a movement of parents organized statewide and a refusal of the tests grew substantially. She renewed her interest in the Palestinian cause after October 7th and found her way into circles where conversations of co-existence were happening. She has grown to appreciate this vision and brings her creative spirit to this movement.
